Don’t stop now, finish the job! Making HIV prevention work
OPM carried out the background research for the International HIV/AIDS Alliance campaign ‘Don’t stop now, finish the job! Making HIV prevention work.’ The study examines resource flows for HIV prevention targeted at most vulnerable populations (MARP) such as sex workers, homosexual intercourse and intravenous drug users amongst others. The study maps volumes of resource flows, but also modalities of donor resource allocation mechanisms. We find that little systematic data on funding and expenditure for AIDS prevention is available so that it is difficult to know how much at any given point in time donors, and national governments, spend on prevention for vulnerable groups.
