Emma Jones is a Principal Consultant in OPM’s social development portfolio. She joined OPM in 2013. Emma is a development anthropologist with 18 years of experience in programme management, qualitative research and evaluation. She has particular expertise and interest in gender, inclusion and empowerment, tackling violence against women and girls (VAWG), nutrition, behavioural change, civil society and government accountability. Her recent assignments have included analysis of DFID’s VAWG programmes (global); evaluation of nutrition and social protection programmes (Nigeria, Pakistan, Kenya, Indonesia, Uganda) ; political economy analysis; operations research on behavioural change; voice and accountability programmes (Nigeria, Ethiopia, Kenya, Vietnam, Mozambique, South Africa). Before joining OPM, Emma was a state programme manager for DFID governance and civil society programmes in Nigeria. Emma has an PhD from the Institute of Development Studies in the UK, where she focused on local governance, citizen rights and participation.
