Sean O'Leary

Country Manager

Sean O’Leary is a Senior Consultant and Country Manager of OPM in South Africa, specialising in economic and econometric analysis of policies aimed at alleviating poverty. He holds an MSc in Economics for Development from the University of Oxford and a BSc in Economics from University College London. Sean is currently leading the quantitative component of an evaluation of the Benazir Income Support Programme in Pakistan, as well as providing econometric analysis on poverty in Rwanda as part of DFID- sponsored programme. Prior to joining OPM, Sean worked as a Research Associate in the Centre for Studies of African Economies in the University of Oxford and took a lead role in the design, implementation, data management and analysis of two surveys: the Adventist Development and Relief Agency Microfinance Survey and the Ghana Cocoa Farmers Survey. Sean also spent two years in the Ministry of Agriculture, Guyana, as an ODI Fellow, where he provided technical input in a variety of key policy areas, including WTO trade negotiations, the National Competitiveness Plan and the Government of Guyana's response to the EC Common Market Organisation reform in the sugar sector.
