Biography

Aparna John is an Assistant Consultant based at OPM's India office. Currently, she supports local acquisition and implementation of projects. She did her first degree in Economics at the University of Delhi and has an MSc in Economics and Development Economics from the University of Nottingham. Prior to working with OPM, she held research assistant positions at University of Oxford and University of Allahabad. As a research assistant in the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative (OPHI), she assisted Dr Sabina Alkire and her team in creating the Multidimensional Poverty Index for the 20th anniversary edition of Human Development Report (HDR 2010). At OPHI, she was also involved in project management and administration. Prior to joining OPHI, she was Research Assistant to Professor Jean Dreze at the University of Allahabad, assisting on research related to the Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme and child malnutrition issues in India.
