Biography

Chris Rayment is a Consultant in social care at OPM and is an experienced senior manager with a background in the NGO sector, specialising in child protection and child welfare programming. In 2010, he managed and supported an institutional capacity assessment of the Department of Social Services in Zimbabwe (for UNICEF) and has recently contributed to the development of a regionally appropriate methodological framework for carrying out social welfare sector capacity assessments for the eastern and southern Africa region (also for UNICEF). He is currently managing a multi-year project supporting the government of the Republic of Tajikistan in modernising the national system of social services (for the EU), key components of which include support to the development of a new national strategic framework, development of a common approach to setting, implementing and monitoring service standards and building the capacity of a range of social work and social care managers and practitioners. In 2009, Chris worked as part of a small OPM technical team coordinating OPM's provision of technical assistance to the Government of Moldova and UNICEF as hosts to a regional conference on child care services reform for the CEE/CIS region. Outside of OPM, Chris is a member of the governing Board of the International Foster Care Organisation and an Advisory Group Member for the Better Care Network.
