Biography
Dennis Chiwele is a development economist with a wide-ranging professional experience that spans a period of over 20 years. His experience covers many aspects of development including interactions of local development processes with the wider economy, agriculture marketing, agricultural policy, agriculture sector-wide approaches, economic adjustment, employment and the labour markets (including rural labour markets), monitoring and evaluation systems, human development, district and community stakeholder-driven strategic planning, poverty and social impact assessment, household food security, social security and vulnerability assessment, water and sanitation, strategic environmental impact assessment and local governance and political reforms. His recent work has focused on the mainstreaming of HIV and AIDS in initiatives promoting sustainable livelihoods. He has been team leader on many studies and has a successful track record of human resource mobilization, supervision of consultants, liaising with a wide range of actors and stakeholders and report writing.
