Biography

Janet Hayes is a Consultant in the Economic Policy Programme at OPM. She has undertaken research on consultancy projects related to access to financial services, aid effectiveness, alignment and sustainable land management. Until recently, Janet was Programme Administration Manager for the Economic Policy Programme and was responsible for managing the administration of projects throughout the project cycle and liaising with donors. Before working at OPM, Janet lived in Tanzania, working as a consultant and Programme Manager for VSO Tanzania and as a committee member for an Iringa-based environmental education NGO. As Programme Manager for the Southern Highlands region, Janet was responsible for supporting volunteers working in various sectors, including business development, health and education, as well as liaising with their Tanzanian counterparts. Her work for the local environmental education NGO involved supporting office staff, proposal writing and researching income-generation techniques. Before relocating to Tanzania, Janet worked closely with VSO's East Africa programmes, including supporting their Tanzania programme.
