Biography
Joanna Baskott has over 11 years' experience as a child protection programme manager supporting government-led reform projects in the field of child protection, deinstitutionalisation and child welfare. She has extensive experience providing technical assistance and consultancy to government on child welfare reform and child protection issues. Specific recent experience includes director roles in three donor-funded technical assistance projects directly supporting governments and encompassing legal, fiscal, service delivery and standards reform. Previously, Joanna worked as Development Director with an international child-focused NGO, contributing to the development of strategies and partnerships to support programmes across 17 countries. Joanna has detailed knowledge and understanding of international best practice in child welfare and protection. Special interests include support to strategies for the appropriate use of preventive services and interventions to prevent child and family/community separation, the appropriate use of alternative care and organisational development support to social sector NGOs. She has recently completed an international master's degree in Children's Rights.
