Biography

Nils Riemenschneider has worked on surveys for more than 12 years, and brings extensive experience in project management, survey design, analysis, presentation and reporting to a team. He works particularly on monitoring and impact evaluations. For example, he is currently managing a four-year monitoring and evaluation study of an Integrated Human Development Project. It draws both on routine administrative data and beneficiary assessments (quantitative and qualitative surveys linked via a scorecard approach) to monitor and evaluate project impact. In the recent mid-term survey, he pioneered the use of Ultra Mobile Personal Computers for data collection, increasing data quality and speed of data delivery. He works in a range of sectors, including social protection (particularly cash transfers), health, education, community development and employment both in Africa and Asia. Prior to his work at OPM, he set up a department for data analysis and survey design at an international market research company, conducting a range of monitoring and evaluation studies. He is particularly interested in bringing business tools to development work.
