Paul Batchelor
Biography
Paul Batchelor became a non-executive director of OPM in July 2004 and Chairman in July 2006. He was previously a partner in PricewaterhouseCoopers. As a member of PwC’s Global Management Team 1998-2004, he had particular responsibility for India, China, Central and Eastern Europe and Africa. From 2002-4 he was also responsible for PwC’s global strategy. A development economist by background, he spent his early career as an Overseas Development Institute (ODI) Fellow and UNDP Economist in Swaziland and Malawi. Paul then joined Coopers & Lybrand as a management consultant in 1974 where he specialised in major international development projects and the reform of public enterprises and pubic services in Africa and Asia. Paul is also Chairman of Crown Agents and a member of the UK and International Advisory Councils of Transparency International.
