Biography

Sachin Gupta has 14 years' consulting experience in a range of countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America, as well as the UK. He has specialist skills in change management, strategy and institutional development with expertise across a number of technical areas. He is currently directing of a major DFID change programme to improve the governance of Nigeria’s oil and gas sector. He is also managing a UNDP project to strengthen the governance of urban responses to HIV in eastern and southern Africa, as well as a research project for the World Bank to measure the returns on Vietnam’s investments in HIV prevention.

He was recently resident in Nigeria, managing a World Bank-funded project to build the capacity of the Public Service Staff Development Centre in Lagos and several DFID-funded public service reform projects with federal government. Previously, he worked as a Senior Technical Advisor for Civil Society Development for the International HIV/Aids Alliance, a resident Management Advisor to the national Planned Parenthood Association of South Africa, and a Senior Consultant with Arthur Andersen Business Consulting in the UK providing strategy and change-management consulting and financial, economic and regulatory analysis for energy, utility, retail and media companies. Sachin is a qualified chartered accountant and experienced workshop facilitator.
