Biography
Simon Hunt was appointed Managing Director of OPM in early 2009 following his role as Director of the Social Policy Programme. He has nearly 30 years experience as a development economist. He specialises in poverty reduction policies, and in service delivery policies for poverty reduction. He is currently directing major social welfare reform projects in Serbia and Moldova and has been leading a team to support the development of a social protection strategy in Rwanda. He is currently leading a large, multi-faceted evaluation of the national primary health care programme in Pakistan using quantitative and qualitative surveys to understand service delivery and impact. He recently lead a large and complex set of service delivery and public expenditure tracking surveys for health and education sectors in Bangladesh, as well as a large team for DFID piloting a multi-country PSIA (Poverty and Social Impact Assessment) in six countries.
