Biography

Tata Chanturidze is a health and social policy consultant. She specializes in health care policy and health care reform design and implementation to address the needs of the most vulnerable and poorest. In 2006-2007 she worked as a Deputy Minister of Labor, Health and Social Affairs in Georgia, in charge of health and social policies, health reform design, MTEF and budget planning. Before that, she was manager of the DFID funded Georgia PHC reform support programme. In parallel, she has been undertaking other technical work, including the Health Systems in Transition; a Georgia country profile for the EU Health Observatory; a number of assessments and case studies supported by different donors; as well as external evaluations of the projects and organisations. Before 2003, she was managing several small projects directed at community empowerment, health care accessibility improvements, and advocacy for transparent health policy making. She also has experience of teaching and training at medical academic and re-training institutions.
