Biography
Tehzeeb Zulfiqar is Director of the Oxford Policy Management Islamabad office. She is a medical doctor with vast experience of public health in Pakistan and worked with OPM as a National Consultant for the fourth third-party evaluation of the Lady Health Worker Programme (LHWP) in Pakistan. Prior to her appointment with OPM she worked as a volunteer training consultant for the LHWP and nutrition wing at the federal level. She is also a Master Trainer of various nutrition courses in Pakistan including the infant and young child feeding practices, breast feeding counseling, the establishment of therapeutic feeding centers, child health, etc. In addition, she has conducted training as a National Master Trainer in the use of counseling cards by Lady Health Workers, and the use of information for District Managers of the LHWP.
She has also been involved in the teaching of all levels of health staff and has been an instructor for public health at the public health school, Peshawar, at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences for Nurses, and at the Community Medicine Department of Margalla Medical College, Islamabad. She has been a part of various studies conducted by the LHWP in collaboration with the World Health Organisation. In addition to the MBBS degree, she holds a masters degree in Community Health Nutrition and an MPhil in Reproductive Physiology.
