Biography
Tony Bennett has specialised in public financial management in developing countries and latterly in the PEFA Framework for PFM assessment and in fiduciary risk assessment. Over 30 years of experience gained in developing countries and as a senior staff member of the UN and the World Bank in New York and Washington in financial management and capacity building for accountability, transparency and cost-effectiveness. Experience includes governance and public sector reform: aid management, debt management, accountability and transparency (Tanzania, Nigeria, Vietnam, the Yemen); public financial management (Nigeria, Papua New Guinea, Sierra Leone, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Zanzibar); privatisation of public enterprises (Curaçao, Malaysia, Vietnam); reform of public enterprises at policy, institutional and enterprise levels (Aruba, Cambodia, Ethiopia; Fiji; the Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, etc.); corporate planning and restructuring; performance contracting systems; management development and technical training of relevant government officers.
