Valentina Barca

Biography

Valentina Barca joined OPM in October 2008 having completed an MPhil in Development studies at the University of Cambridge. She is currently involved in performing background research for an impact evaluation of South Africa’s unconditional cash transfer scheme, the Child Support Grant. She is also working on a mid-term evaluation of the Education For All Fast Track Initiative. Before joining OPM, Valentina performed extensive fieldwork and research in India, in association with the Indian Statistical Institute and the Foundation for Agrarian Studies. Her responsibilities included designing and improving questionnaires, directing data entry, participating in data analysis, and assisting in the preparation of a report on the preliminary results of the 2007 survey-round.
