An external evaluation of DFID’s country strategy for India over the period 1999-2002, to provide input into the preparation of DFID’s new Country Assistance Plan. The study made an assessment of the potential impact of DFID’s programme, and the role that the Country Strategy Paper played in shaping the programme and key decisions over the period, and identified major issues for the new Country Assistance Plan.
