Project Information
OPM has been commissioned to carry out a review of the state of rural financial services in Tanzania Mainland and Zanzibar, with the objective of developing a strategy and action plan to enhance the provision of financial services in the rural areas of the country. The assignment involves an assessment of the rural financial sector and carrying out a supply-side study covering institutions such as commercial and regional community banks, NGO-MFIs, SACCOs and village-based savings and loans associations. Moreover, demand-side analysis is also to be undertaken based on the FinScope data for Tanzania.
