Project Information

The first phase of the project identified the agenda for reform, and the assignment involved the preparation of a diagnostic report that provided a comprehensive analysis of the current situation and in-depth recommendations for the future strategic direction of the sector.  It was discussed in a variety of seminars in Kiev and Washington (published in both English and Ukrainian). The assignment involved the detailed drafting of the report and organising the inputs from six other authors. OPM staff participated actively in the economy-wide dissemination of the report, providing a series of presentations in five Ukrainian cities and conducting press briefings in all of these. They took part in the Quality Assurance review of the project conducted by the World Bank.
