Project Information
Building upon OPM’s previous study on the business model of savings banks, the study of the Social Dividend more closely looks at specific cases of commercial and savings banks that operate with a dual mission of viably providing financial services to the markets they serve and having a strong social commitment to reach low-income market segments. The study seeks to provide valuable information and data covering a range of institutions (operating in Sri Lanka, Uganda, Colombia, Spain, France and Germany) and to contribute to the policy debate on the role of socially committed financial institutions at the national and international levels.
