OPM provided advisory services to the South Africa Postbank regarding the design of a legal and regulatory framework in view of the SAPB’s plan to establish itself as an independent corporate entity, against the background of the limitations of the current banking legislation in place in South Africa. The assignment involved an assessment of the achievements to date of the SAPB relevant to the corporatization process and conducting a regulatory benchmark study of the experience of other postal savings banks operating in the world.
