OPM advised the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) in the detailed planning for the implementation of the Roadmap for the Development of the Banking Sector in Vietnam to 2015 and beyond. OPM’s role was to work with the SBV, the commercial banks and other stakeholders to develop a vision for the banking sector through 2015, and to design a Technical Assistance Roadmap setting out the TA that will be needed to support the substantive Roadmap for the sector. OPM also developed (and transferred to SBV staff) tools to support the SBV in implementing the Roadmap, including a simplified system for assessing the banking environment, the efficiency and stability of individual banks and groups of banks, and the outreach of the banking sector in Vietnam.
