Project Information

Oxford Policy Management was contracted by DFID to provide technical support to the Fertiliser Unit of the Ministry of Agriculture and Co-operatives(MOAC-FU), of the government of Nepal. This represented the first phase of a wider programme of DFID support to the government of Nepal's Agricultural Perspectives Plan (APP). The purpose of the project was to assist MOAC-FU to monitor, analyse and strengthen the fertiliser components of the APP. The project provided support to the Fertiliser Unit for the development of: (i) a revised fertiliser policy; (ii) a revised mission statement for the MOAC-FU based on the revised policy; (iii) a clear framework developed for fertiliser monitoring; (iv) upgraded technical skills to reflect the new roles of the unit; (v) enhanced management systems; and (vi) improved access to international fertiliser networks.
