Support to policy study of crop input subsidies in Lesotho. OPM provided a consultant to support the Ministry of Agriculture, Cooperatives and Land Reclamation undertake a study to: (i) review the impact of crop input subsidisation on the medium and longer term development of agricultural production, and (ii) identify whether there are any weaknesses in the management of the system which may impact upon rural development policy objectives. On the basis of the findings of the study, recommendations were made on future policy towards the subsidisation of inputs and services, particularly in the context of agricultural policy reforms and financial resource availability.
