OPM undertook an analysis of the validity of the growth rates projected in the Tanzanian PRSP. This included an assessment of both short-term economic prospects, and whether there was any evidence that an increase in the long-term trend rate of growth in line with the projections had occurred. The latter was based on whether indicators likely to be associated with the trend rate of growth, or with the extent to which growth was likely to be pro-poor in its impact, were showing signs of improvement. The study included recommendations for future DFID action.
