Trade Related Capacity Building
The international community has committed itself to increasing the level of support to the capacity of developing countries to participate in global trade. The aim of OPM’s projects has been to:
- Enhance the capacity of developing countries to engage in international trade negotiations.
- Strengthen the linkages between a country’s economic growth and poverty reduction objectives and its trade reform strategies.
- Better coordinate and harmonise donor support in the sector.
- Ensure that this support is more closely aligned with national needs and priorities.
- Strengthen the institutions and mechanisms for an inclusive process of trade policy formulation and implementation.
