Project Information
This project had two main objectives:
1) assessing what is an adequate level of an absolute poverty line for Slovakia, and;
2) determining the use of an absolute poverty line by the Social Inclusion Department of the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family in order to improve social assistance and social inclusion programmes.
It explored different ways to set the poverty line using the current available data and also suggested how such data could be improved. The consultancy produced poverty and inequality estimates from 1998 to 2004, and a poverty profile for the most recent year.
