Project Information

OPM has entered into a strategic partnership with the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) to provide advice and related technical assistance on issues related to public financial management. The context for this partnership is provided by SECO's provision of general budget support (GBS) to a number of developing countries and its position in various international forums on aid effectiveness and harmonisation. The consultancy aims to strengthen the capacity of SECO in key areas of the policy dialogue, improve its follow-up of technical assistance programmes, and to maximise synergies between SECO's technical assistance and budget support operations. Work has included collaboration with the Public Expenditure and Financial Accountability Secretariat (PEFA) on the development and testing of a standardised PFM assessment and performance report, analytical work on debt sustainability and debt relief, provision of PFM Training and support to the development of the MTEF in Nicaragua.
