For the period 2004 - 2006, OPM experts assessed the use of performance tranches in the provision of direct budget support to the Government of Sierra Leone (GoSL); assessed GoSL's use of funds released through performance tranches, differentiating between budget support donors according to the mechanisms used for performace tranche disbursements; assessed the impact of performance tranche disbursements on fiscal and monetary indicators. The experts also provided recommendations for the design of DFID's programme of budget support for 2007 - 2009.
