Project Information
OPM worked with the Government of Grenada (GoG) on a three-year project to target policy and management issues at the strategic heart of government and to provide an enabling environment for the private sector. The role of responsive policing in providing personal and community safety and security was also addressed as a component of the project. In order to achieve these goals, OPM worked with GoG to support the Public Service Reform Management Unit in:
- managing the reform process and leading a wide-ranging reorganisation of the machinery of government
- effective Cabinet systems serving the strategic needs of government
- modern strategic management systems for use by senior public sector managers
- a legal and regulatory framework conducive to private sector development
- a modern community-based police force responsive to the needs of all citizens.
The project team worked closely with the Prime Minister, the Cabinet, the Senior Managers' Board and the Cabinet Secretariat to develop modern policies, systems and procedures and to develop capacity building and change management strategies to support improved performance.
