Project Information

OPM has been contracted by DFID to design and implement a centre of government support programme for the Government of North-West Frontier Province (GoNWFP) and the Federally Administered Tribal Area (FATA) Secretariat. The purpose of the support programme is to enhance GoNWFP and FATA-S capacities to design and deliver effective and sustainable public services. The programme aims to deliver improvements in the following areas:

  • Public financial management, through the establishment of a Medium-Term Budgetary Framework and performance-oriented budgeting;
  • Human resource management, through improved HR information systems, revised job descriptions, and an administration-wide training strategy;
  • Policy planning and coordination, through the preparation of a Comprehensive Development Strategy for the province, and the development of stronger linkages between policy and budgeting;
  • Monitoring and evaluation, including improving the availability and collation of data, as well as ensuring that data is used effectively by decision makers; and
  • Support to FATA-S, with a focus on donor coordination, resource management capacity, and PFM reform.
