Project Information

The Serbian Government recognises the need for a coherent policy for regional development. Indeed, as Serbia seeks to integrate its economy and markets in the global and, in particular, the EU single market, there is a need to ensure that all areas of the country are capable of competing within these new markets.

OPM, as part of a consortium led by WYG International, is currently implementing the EU-funded "Support to the Regional Development Agencies (RSEDP II)" Project.  This project seeks to strengthen capacity in Serbia for the design and implementation of a policy for a balanced territorial socio-economic development in the perspective of EU accession.  More specifically, the project aims to improve the capacities of the Regional Development Agencies (RDAs) and other regional and municipal stakeholders for regional development planning and implementation and during the course of the project implementation to:

1. Increase the efficiency of RDAs in managing local development resources;
2. Increase the participation of RDAs in national regional development policy planning;
3. Improve the skills of the RDAs’ staff and other stakeholders in Project Cycle Management (PCM) and financial management;
4. Ensure the efficient management of the Grant scheme for Regional Development.
