Project Information

OPM provided a review of the performance of a social sector investment programme in Pakistan. This joint government-donor programme covers basic education, health, family planning and rural water supplies and sanitation; it has a budget of more than US$ 8 billion over 5 years. OPM used the findings from multiple rounds of a household survey to evaluate progress in the basic social indicators that define SAP targets. The findings were disseminated to federal and provincial government officials in the form of reports and participatory workshops. Information on government expenditure in these sectors was also included. These workshops formed part of a wider government-donor mid-term review of the SAP in which policy and programmatic issues were assessed as a condition of ongoing donor funding.
