OPM supported the National Bureau of Statistics, Tanzania, to strengthen its economic statistics. This included support in the development of a master plan for economic statistics; revision of national accounts data and re-basing of the GDP figures; support to a survey of businesses; reviewing the options for using routine (VAT) data to update economic statistics; and improving the accessibility of economic statistics to users through the statistical releases. It also included the provision of support in economic statistics to the Zanzibar statistics office.
