Project Information

The Kenya Judicial Statistics project is part the IMF’s GDDS programme for Anglophone Africa.  The GDDS is a framework for statistical development which provides guidance on good statistical practice, supplies tools to diagnose areas of the statistical system that require priority attention, the World Bank is providing technical assistance in parallel to cover socio-demographic statistics. Under this programme and in response to the demand from the Government of Kenya to strengthen judicial statistics, OPM provided an expert in judicial statistics to review user needs for statistical outputs and products in both criminal and civil justice.  As part of the assignment the consultant identified the inputs and capacity building activities will be needed to achieve these outputs and prepared a detailed implementation plan for judicial statistics integrated with the implementation plan prepared for the Kenyan National Statistical System as a whole.
