Summary:
The Primary Healthcare Revitalisation, Integration and Decentralisation in Earthquake-affected Areas (PRIDE) Programme was a USAID-funded health systems strengthening project launched after the devastating 2005 earthquake in northern Pakistan. OPM carried out the KPC survey of the PRIDE Programme in 2010. The objective of the Endline Survey was to see any identifiable trend in the key health indicators where the project had intervened by generating estimates on health indicators and comparing those with the Baseline Survey results conducted in 2007. The survey was implemented in 3000 households in Bagh district of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, a mountainous and extremely difficult area. Six field teams completed the field work within one month. They collected important data on contraception, reproductive health and child health, which were the key areas in which the project has intervened. The fieldwork and analysis of the survey was conducted maintaining strict deadlines which enabled PRIDE to present the findings in the Global Health Conference 2010. The PRIDE Endline Survey demonstrates OPM's capacity to conduct surveys in geographically difficult areas and deliver projects in tight deadlines.
