Summary:
The overall aim of this study was to provide substantial input to the JESR process 2011, make recommendations and build consensus among energy stakeholders on certain aspects of the Tanzanian energy sector as per the following objectives:

- Overall sector performance update: provide an update on the current situation of the energy sector and assess any progress made compared to last year’s JESR study report “Performance of the Energy Sector Assessment”.
- Sector policy and strategy: review progress made on existing policy and strategies and development of new ones and, depending on the progress made, recommend on concrete strategies and actions to be envisaged by the JESR working group to improve the current situation.
- Review of follow up actions on sector governance and financing structure:
- Review the actions taken by the Government of Tanzania and the EDPs since the last JESR 2010 on the subject of Sector Governance and the Sector’s Financing Structure.
