Summary:
OPM was commissioned by GAC to produce a study on the potential macroeconomic and social impacts of the Guinea Alumina Project. The study, which utilised a computer general equilibrium model, highlighted both the potential positive and potential negative economic impacts of the project, and how the project can contribute to the poverty reduction strategy of the Government of Guinea. This study recommended key performance indicators and looked at potential broader macro-economic impacts; direct socio-economic impacts of the project, and the potential contribution of development finance institutions.
