Summary:
This project involved the assessment of the cost of current and proposed social protection policies including public works, child cash benefit, universal pension in Mozambique.
We developed a benefits costing model based on micro data (micro simulation model). The micro simulation component of the model was also linked to macroeconomic and fiscal models (developed by the ILO with assistance from the World Bank, IMF and OPM) so as to allow the assessment of the fiscal space for the proposed benefits.
