OPM recently completed the first EITI Validation in Africa in assessing whether Liberia was fully compliant with the EITI principles and criteria. Following the publication and acceptance of the Liberia Validation Report written by OPM, at an EITI meeting held in Azerbaijan on 14-15 October 2009 the EITI Board formally announced that Liberia was EITI Compliant.
