OPM provided support to Statistics South Africa to develop the National Statistics System (NSS) to provide better information for the Government-wide Monitoring and Evaluation System. The consultants worked with a small team from Statistics South Africa to assess the potential for increasing the coverage of the NSS by assessing the statistics currently available, the quality of those statistics and the potential for increasing the scope and relevance of potential statistics to stakeholders.At the conclusion of the project the Compendium of Indicators and their definitions were presented to government agencies for adoption as part of the national indicator system.
