Naveed Chaudhry

Naveed is a Principal Consultant, and is the Senior Leader for Private Sector Climate Finance at OPM (based in the UK). He is focused on tackling climate change via the interface of climate finance, climate policy, and climate innovation, and is leading the development of the private sector climate finance practice at OPM. His geographic expertise encompasses the UK, Middle-East, SE Asia, and low-middle-income countries more generally.

Naveed has been involved in various projects and initiatives at OPM, including leading the workstream for the development of an innovation and technology fund with the FCDO and Indonesian National Development Planning Agency, as part of the Low Carbon Development Initiative, and serves as OPM’s representative as an Observer at the Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance.

He has also served as an advisor / consultant to various organisations in the climate innovation & climate finance space, and was previously the Head of The Greenhouse accelerator at Undaunted (which he also co-founded), an initiative of the Grantham Institute, Climate Change and the Environment at Imperial College London. Prior to that, Naveed ran the Climate-KIC accelerator prior to that, an EIT-funded initiative and the first climate-focused accelerator in the UK.

Naveed has also led Climate Launchpad in the UK since 2019, part of the world’s biggest green ideas competition, and has supported over 150 climate-focused start-ups over the last 7 years. Naveed is also an advisor, mentor, and chair at various tech, social impact, and climate-focused initiatives, and has prior experience in VC and growth equity at MCM Partners.

He spent the first decade of his career in investment banking at Lehman Brothers and Nomura, where he executed over $40bn of capital markets advisory transactions for a range of clients around the world, and has a degree in Geography from the University of Oxford.
