Patrick Ward is the Director of our Statistics, Evidence and Accountability Programme.
He has more than 15 years' experience in monitoring and evaluating social sector programmes, including those in health, education, social protection and nutrition. He has extensive experience of designing, managing and analysing large quantitative surveys for national monitoring processes and for the evaluation of specific programmes.
Patrick supported various elements of the government poverty monitoring system in Tanzania, including the development of a poverty line. He has helped with the analysis of national household surveys in a number of other countries, including Angola, Rwanda and Pakistan, and has led large-scale project evaluations in Kenya, Pakistan, Nigeria, and Georgia.
Patrick is currently providing technical support for the National Institute of Statistics in Mozambique as they develop district and local statistics, drawing on a range of administrative sources and census data.
