Hector Alonso
Hector is a social protection specialist with experience supporting the EU, GIZ, USAID, and ADB with project design and delivery in Latin America, Africa, Asia, and Europe. At OPM, Hector has supported the implementation of mixed-methods evaluations for social protection programmes targeting migrants and refugees. Hector specialises in researching the operationalisation of adaptive social protection, with a focus on assessing bottlenecks in the design of data and information systems and exploring how programmes can be stress-tested and risk-informed. Hector is also the lead on client engagement with the GIZ in relation to the 'Social Protection Innovation and Learning' Programme.
Hector holds a Master of Public Policy from the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin.
