Health
Despite substantial progress in health outcomes, many people still lack access to adequate health care. The poorest people and those affected by conflict, marginalisation, and other vulnerabilities face disproportionate barriers to accessing care.
Strong, resilient, and inclusive health systems are critical to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, Universal Health Coverage and Global Health Security. We work with national government and development partners to support progress towards high-quality and affordable care for all.
Our health team offers a rare combination of in-house technical expertise across health systems pillars and the full policy cycle. We have specialised hubs on Health systems governance; health service organisation and delivery; health financing and service purchasing; global health security; and monitoring, evaluation, research and learning; and a strong focus on community health and gender.
Our team is spread across OPM’s global offices and, together with a network of over 1,200 trusted consultants, this geographic footprint has allowed us to successfully deliver over 2,000 projects in around 90 countries globally.
We deliver complex, multi-country, multi-year frameworks; long-term technical assistance and consultancy services; and rapid response, short- and medium-term technical assistance, research, and evaluations.
Our combination of cutting-edge research and analysis with profound understanding of practical implementation and policy processes has made us a trusted partner for many of the leading global health organisations, including the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, World Bank, Global Financing Facility, Global Fund, World Health Organisation, United Nations International Children’s Fund, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Children's Investment Fund Foundation, The United States Agency for International Development, and German Development Bank (KfW) amongst others.
We support thought leadership that uses the expertise, insights, and experience from our research and practice. Examples include:
- Performance management in complex adaptive systems: a conceptual framework for health systems, BMJ Global Health.
- Assessment of Public Hospital Governance in Romania: Lessons From 10 Case Studies, International Journal of Health Policy and Management.
- Introducing Diagnosis-Related Groups in Kazakhstan: Evolution, achievements, and challenges, Health Policy.
